INSCIGNIS 2014--- exploring 'Scientific Paradise' InSCIgnis is the annual mega science fest of Tezpur University.Organised by the Students' Science Council,this fiesta is celebrated on the occasion of National Science Day.It is one of the leading and the biggest science festivals in the North-Eastern India.InSCIgnis rejoices the spirit of science and innovation fostering scientific temper among masses. The expression InSCignis has been derived from the Latin word 'insignis' which means ushering in distinguished,remarkable or rapid mark making development in a particular field. Unveiling a mosaic of exhilarating and thrilling events,this two-day extravaganza stands as a unique platform for intensive workshops,brainstorming quizzes,webinar,experimentation and designing,fun events and Symposia with eminent scientists and personalities across the globe. The previous editions of InSCIgnis have seen exponential mount both in terms eminence and enormity.Hence, carrying forward the legacy of disseminating scientific zeal all over. InSCIgnis 2014 this time promises to be more regal.effective and even more prominent. InSCIgnis is organised by Students' Science Council (SSC) on the occassion of National Science Day(28th Feb),to mark the discovery of scattering of light(Raman Effect) in 1928 by Sir C.V. Raman which fetched him Nobel Prize in Physics. Its podium has witnessed talks from eminent scientists ,exclusive group of visionaries and personalities across the globe.Recently,The SSC organized talks where luminaries like Prof. J.V. Narlikar(Prominent Cosmologist, PadmaBibhusan recipient), Prof A.K Mishra, Prof.Alok Kumar Buragohain and Prof. AmarJyoti Choudhury participated.Like previous years,among its plethora of activities,SSC this year too aims at 'fostering scientific temper' and popularizing science among the masses through a scheduled outreach programs.Hope your participation fulfil your scientific quest and lead our mission.
